Cecelia S. Lyden, succumbed to Pulmonary Fibrosis on December 20, 2019, at her home. Born February 12, 1941 in Tarrytown, New York, she is the daughter of the late Peter and Mildred (Mascola) Barbella.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard A. Lyden; her daughter, Cheryl Anne Cochran; her son, Christopher Paul Lyden; three grandchildren, Caroline Cochran, Ryan Cochran, and Ricky Vega; her brother Peter F. and wife GayAnn Barbella, a brother in-law John K. Lyden, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Her beloved son, Kenneth Peter Lyden preceded her in death in 2012.
Cecelia was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She was a fifth-grade teacher and later attended Millersburg University to obtain her art certification. She became an elementary art instructor for the West Shore School District and for the last five years of her tenure she was the head of their art department. Cecelia loved teaching art and working with other teachers.
In her retirement, Cecelia was a local artist and a member of the Susquehanna Valley Plein Aire Painters. She enjoyed her time painting with other artists. She valued the many years of laughter and sharing life with her oldest friends. Most of all, she loved her family; her husband, children, grandchildren and parents. She is so sad to leave them and this earth. She prays God will forgive her sins and faults and will receive her upon her death.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill. Dear Mr. Lyden and Family - We are so sorry for you great loss. May all of your hearts soon be filled with beautiful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a Beauty Full life well lived. Our family has fond memories of Mrs. Lyden - I personally, was so grateful that she welcomed me into her lovely home to celebrate my wedding shower, several years ago. It was a special occasion and I was so grateful for her kindness and generosity. She is an inspiration to all of us to find the gift that God gives you and use your gift to spread love and joy in your lifetime. Her artistic talent, was one of her many gifts -- what treasures she has created in her lifetime on canvas. May her memory be a Blessings! In sympathy and prayer, Christopher and Danielle Cochran and Family
